To provide comfort to families who suffer loss/death of a loved one and to provide assistance in making the necessary funeral arrangements.

To remember members birthday month by sending them a birthday card and acknowledging them during the worship service in that month. Also, to acknowledge couples who are celebrating a wedding anniversary during the month of their wedding date by sending them an anniversary card.

Boy Scouts Ministry
To provide instruction that will develop young men spiritually, mentally, socially and emotionally so as to enable them to cope with the challenges of the world in which we live.

Christian Education Ministry
To maintain itself as a Bible-based, Holy Spirit empowered teaching learning entity that guides individuals to spiritual growth and maturity.
“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly diving the Word of Truth.” II Timothy 2:15
Church School & Vacation Bible School Ministry
To provide opportunities for persons, especially children, to learn about the will of God. To provide young children with their first bridge from their home to their first school experience by focusing on learning through play and social interaction.
“Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn, and Fear the Lord your God, and observe to do all the words of this law: and that their children who have not known any thing, may hear, and
learn to fear the Lord your God, . . . .” Deuteronomy 31:12-13
To address children at their earliest level of learning that will lead them into Christian concepts for learning and living.

Civic Affairs/History Ministry
To preserve the history of our church by preservation of historical documents, pictures and other memorabilia. To bring an awareness to the members of current events in the community that would be beneficial to our church.

To be the servant of Jesus Christ pursuing the high calling in Jesus Christ by being available to lead in worship, Bible Study and evangelism; to support the Pastor by serving in congregational and Pastoral Care and to administer benevolence, discipline and reconciliation to the members of the church. To hold up the arms of the Pastor by studying th Word of God with our Pastor and implementing God’s vision as it is given to him by and through the Holy Spirit.

To meet the needs of the church under the spiritual guidance of the Pastor and the Deacons by assisting in the overall needs of the congregation. To take care of the communion cloths; clean, prepare, and restore the utensils after each Communion Service; oversee the dressing of the Baptismal Candidates for baptism; give counsel and serve as role models for the young ladies of the church and the community.
“I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deaconess of the church of Cenchreae, that you may receive her in the Lord as befits the saints, and help her in whatever she may require from you, for she had been a helper of many and of myself as well.” Romans 16:1,2
To effectively spread the Gospel Message through dynamic drama presentations as well as training, teaching and directing others in creative arts ministries.

To use God-given skills to provide a pleasing and pleasant atmosphere for the worship experience by seeing to it that the pulpit and sanctuary are adorned with appropriate seasonal flowers.

Food Service Ministry
To plan, select, purchase, and prepare wholesome, nutritious food for the congregation for special events such as weddings, funerals, special church days, etc.
“Give us today the food we need.” Matthew 6:11
Genesis House Resource Ministry
To collect and distribute slightly used clothing for members and the community and to distribute non-perishable food items in case of an emergency.
“And sold their possessions and goods, and parted (gave) them to all men (women), as every man(woman) had need.” Acts 2:45
To welcome and greet church members, family, friends and visitors by setting the beginning of the worship experience with a warm, friendly greeting and smile.
“How wonderful it is, how pleasant, for God’s people to live together in harmony.” Psalm 133.1
Girl Scouts Ministry
To teach young girls the importance of personal responsibility, the value of goal-setting, the spirit of teamwork, of God and the thrill of accomplishment while having fun along the way.
“May our daughters be as stately columns polished after the similitude of a palace.” Psalm 144:12b
Healing Zone Ministry
To strengthen and stabilize members by sponsoring forums for the church and community that relate to health through appropriate exercises and activities designed to empower them to change attitudes, behaviors, and choices they make in order to maintain and promote a healthy environment and life.
“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your mind body, and soul.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Home and Hospital Visitation Circle
To go and encourage members who are hospitalized and who are shut in and to greatly lift the spirits of those physically struggling.
“Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say.” 2 Thessalonians 2: 16-17
Illness Support Ministry
To assist members and non members who are dealing with problems to include but not limited to difficult relationships, a significant relationship, a significant loss, depression, anger, anxiety, etc.
“So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Intercessory Prayer Ministry
To pray with or pray for anyone who is in need of prayer.
“Our Father, Which art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. . . for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever.” Matthew 6:9-13
Men of Valor Men’s Ministry
To provide spiritual, intellectual, financial and health education to the men of Fourth Baptist Church through monthly prayer breakfasts and retreats.

To provide a multitude of music services that would enhance personal and corporate praise and worship during the worship experience.

New Members Ministry
To conduct a comprehensive orientation program to introduce all new members joining Fourth Baptist Church to church principles, practices, member responsibilities and auxiliaries and ministries of the church.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19
To provide a safe, loving, nurturing and inspirational environment that promotes learning and self-esteem while demonstrating the values of Christian
life and growth in the family of God.
“Let the children come to me, and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14b
Pastor’s Aid Ministry
To provide moral, spiritual and financial support to the pastor and first family.
“For this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due.” Romans 13:6-7a
To provide administrative support for personnel matters including the recruitment, career development, training, staff welfare and hiring and termination of employees.

In the spring and fall of each year a Saturday is set aside to give the church building some extra tender-loving care by cleaning up and repairing items both inside and outside the building.

Praise Dance Ministry
To be committed to share the goodness of God’s love, hope, and goodness to others through the physical outward expression of dance.
“Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp”. Psalm 149:3
To encourage and promote members to take advantage of every opportunity for training and advancement that would aid in fulfilling their mission with the rewarding of scholarships thereby adding a blessing to the church member by linking their spiritual lives with their work.
“Therefore I remind you that you stir up the gift of God, which is in you by the laying on of my hands”. II Timothy 1:6a
To provide for a safe surrounding for church activities that include safe parking and supervision of parking lots while during worship services.
“When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are safe”. Luke 11:22
To meet the overall needs of seniors by establishing a structure in which seniors can obtain information, resources, and referrals in a broad spectrum of topics ranging from healthcare needs to legal and financial concerns to social and recreational activities.
“I have been young and now I am old, Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken Or his descendants begging bread”. Psalm 37:25
Social Services Ministry
To seek the Great Commission in a variety of ways to help meet the needs of the members. Consultation, assessment, and referrals, and practical assistance to aid members who are facing financial hardship are offered.
“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world”. James 1:27
To provide transportation to and from the 10:00 a.m. worship service and special Church events.
“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; whom shall I be afraid?”. Psalm 27:1
To administer and facilitate the needs of the congregation each Sunday by meeting them with a pleasant smile, a warm welcome, and directing them to their seats. To also ensure that perfect order is kept in and around the Church at all times during the worship experience,
“For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of
wickedness”. Psalm 84:10
To establish a foundation for building Christian character, morals, values and behaviors in young people ages 12 to 18; by using creative and innovative methods to excite, inspire, capture and ignite young people to know who Jesus is and what it is to live for Him only.
“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you”. Exodus 20:12
